Here is some information in advance:
In addition to the Abitur or the full entrance qualification for universities of applied sciences, school application requirements include, for example, a master craftsman's certificate or completed vocational training in combination with several years of professional activity in the learned profession or another profession, see §§ 2 - 4 BBiHZVO (Vocational Training University Admission Ordinance).
If the last requirements are met, applicants may have achieved their eligibility to study, which must, however, be proven in a separate examination at the university of applied sciences.
The state of North Rhine-Westphalia offers around 3,000 positions every year on September 1st and promises all students who have successfully completed their studies a subsequent binding transfer to the police service of the state of North Rhine-Westphalia.
However, the Ministry of the Interior, as the employer, places high demands on its future police officers. In addition to the basic requirements mentioned above, the police doctor must certify fitness for police service from a medical point of view. From a sporting point of view, proof of the German Sports Badge in bronze and the German Lifeguard Badge in bronze (alternatively the normal swimming badge in gold) must be provided by July 1st of the recruitment year. The German Sports Badge in bronze and the German Lifeguard Badge in bronze or the Swimming Badge in gold must not be older than 24 months.
A minimum height of 163 cm is still required for all applicants. Anyone who does not reach this height can still prove their suitability via a "minimum height test" (course).
Anyone who meets all the application requirements and successfully completes a subsequent three-day selection process can look forward to an exciting three-year dual Bachelor's degree course. Students already receive a salary of around €1400 during their training.
After successfully completing your studies, you will be a police commissioner in the senior civil service. You can be sure that you will learn a highly interesting, varied and crisis-proof profession with a wide range of subsequent employment opportunities.
