A 17-year-old teenager from Titz was driving on district road 7 from Titz towards Erkelenz on Thursday, March 27, at around 9.50 am. She lost control of her moped for an as yet unexplained reason and ended up on the grass verge. She crashed into a traffic sign and was seriously injured.
She was taken to hospital by rescue helicopter and admitted as an inpatient. The scene of the accident remained closed to traffic for the duration of the accident investigation.
