After shopping, a 54-year-old man from Erkelenz dropped a bottle from the rack of his bicycle on Atelierstraße on Saturday, July 19, at around 1.45 pm. As he bent down to pick up the bottle, a male person approached him and offered to hold the bike for him. The unknown man then got on the bike and fled. He was about 180 centimeters tall, had a foreign appearance and a three-day beard. He was wearing a light-colored T-shirt, dark trousers and a dark baseball cap.
The police are looking for witnesses who can provide information on the identity of the fugitive. They are asked to contact the criminal investigation department in Erkelenz on 02452 920 0.
