At the same time, according to him, a black SUV approached on Gladbacher Straße in the direction of Am Heidehof. The driver then allegedly signaled to the Wassenberger that he could now cross the road.
When he did so, the SUV hit him and then fled. The driver was around 50 to 60 years old. The car would have had Heinsberg license plates (HS-) on it.
