A hit-and-run accident occurred on Hochstraße at around 1.45 p.m. on August 22.
A 25-year-old woman from Heinsberg was riding her pedelec on Hochstraße coming from Sittarder Straße. A cab (Bulli) was driving in front of her in the same direction. This had braked sharply in front of the archway. The woman from Heinsberg then drove past the stopped vehicle on the left. At that moment, the taxi started up again and there was a collision. The cyclist fell to the ground as a result of the impact and injured herself. A female passenger on the passenger side of the cab got out and inquired about the cyclist's well-being. She was still under the influence of the accident and said that she was fine. The woman then got back in and the cab continued its journey. The passenger was a woman around 40 to 50 years old with blonde hair, which she wore up.
