Erkelenz - On Tuesday evening (January 28), a pedestrian was the victim of a robbery.
The woman was walking her dog on the footpath between the tennis court and Ziegelweiher in Marienweg at around 5.50 pm. The 74-year-old was carrying her handbag over her shoulder.
A cyclist approached from behind and pulled the handbag off the Erkelenz woman's shoulder while she was riding. The woman lost her balance and fell into an adjacent bush. She sustained minor injuries as a result.
The cyclist fled on his bike, probably a silver-colored ladies' bike, into Krefelder Straße in the direction of the Sparkasse branch. According to the description, the robber was between 18 and 30 years old and at least 180 centimeters tall. He was dressed completely in black and had a black hood pulled over his head.
