Erkelenz - There was a traffic accident on Friday (June 13) in which a pedestrian was injured.
The 77-year-old was on Kölner Straße, opposite the "Handybursche" cell phone store, at around 9.55 a.m. when he was hit by an e-scooter driver. The collision caused him to fall onto the road and he sustained injuries that later had to be treated in hospital. The driver of the e-scooter, an approximately 80-year-old gray-haired man, initially helped the pedestrian up and inquired about his well-being. However, when the ambulance arrived, he said goodbye and left the scene of the accident. The police are now looking for witnesses to the accident and the person who fled the scene.
