At lunchtime on Wednesday, May 21, the police received a tip-off about a threatening offense. The location, a house on Mühlenweg, was therefore searched on the basis of a court order from Aachen district court. It turned out that narcotics were apparently being manufactured there. During the operation, in which SEK officers were also involved, a total of three people were provisionally arrested. They are three Dutch nationals, aged 39, 42 and 55, who live in Kerkrade, Heerlen and Übach-Palenberg. They are accused of violating the Narcotics Act and will be brought before a magistrate later today.
Several police officers suffered skin and respiratory tract irritation and were slightly injured by vapors that apparently resulted from the production of narcotics.
Fire and ambulance services were also involved in the operation. The Mühlenweg road remained closed until the early hours of the morning. The police began an investigation, which is still ongoing.
