Gangelt-Brüxgen - On Wednesday afternoon (August 13), shortly before 4 p.m., a witness observed three minors who were in the schoolyard of the elementary school on Heidweg and tried to set something on fire. When they realized that they had been discovered, the trio fled on their bicycles along Heidweg in the direction of Schützenstraße. In the rear area, the three had set fire to the coconut fiber fall protection of a climbing frame. The fire department had to remove the fall protection and scatter the coconut fibers to prevent the fire from spreading. The boys all appeared to be of southern origin, were around 11 to 13 years old and were wearing short blue pants. One of them was also wearing a green T-shirt with an unknown logo.
