Gangelt - On Monday, September 10, between 11.20 am and 1 pm, a moped was stolen from a parking lot at a school on Mercatorstraße. At around 2 p.m., a witness came forward and found the vehicle damaged on Etzenrather Mühle road. This witness had previously observed a young man driving towards him in a tunnel there coming from the direction of Mindergangelt and was apparently traveling too fast. The young man fell in the tunnel and suffered a bleeding injury to his right hand. The witness asked how he was feeling and gave the injured man a handkerchief. He picked up the bike again and rode off. The witness had now found the same vehicle and informed the police. He was able to describe the fugitive as about 14 to 15 years old, about 165 centimeters tall and slim. He had longer black curls and was dressed in a blue jogging suit and black shoes and had tanned skin. He appeared to be from south-eastern Europe.
