Wassenberg - On Sunday (November 3), a traffic accident occurred on Erkelenzer Straße in which a motorcyclist was injured.
At around 12:15 p.m., a 35-year-old woman was driving her car on Erkelenzer Straße in the direction of Gladbacher Straße when she noticed a motorcyclist with a pillion passenger, who was directly behind the Wegberger's vehicle on his motorcycle and repeatedly drove up close. At the level of a hiking trail that leads into a wooded area on the right-hand side of the road, the motorcyclist pulled up the handlebars and tried unsuccessfully to overtake the woman's car, riding only on the rear wheel. He crashed into the left rear of the car and fell onto the road. The pillion rider immediately fled on foot along the footpath in an unknown direction. The rider of the motorcycle, who was apparently injured, got up again with difficulty, mounted his bike and fled in the direction of Gladbacher Straße.
Both men were lean, around 180 centimetres tall and wore black motorcycle helmets. The driver was dressed in black, the pillion rider was wearing a brown hoodie. The motorcycle was black.
The police are now looking for witnesses who can provide relevant information about the fugitives.
The police traffic commissioner's office in Heinsberg is responsible in this case, telephone 02452 920 0.
