Hückelhoven-Baal - On Sunday evening (January 5), there was a traffic accident between a pedelec rider and a pedestrian, who is now being sought by the police.
The 22-year-old pedelec rider was on Bahnstraße coming from Ottostraße in the direction of Doveren when, according to his own statements, a pedestrian came towards him on the cycle path at around 7.30 pm. Shortly before he passed the pedestrian, the pedestrian changed sides, whereupon the cyclist from Hückelhoven had to brake, lost control of his bike and fell. The pedestrian, a man around 40 to 60 years old, who was wearing dark trousers and a gray jacket, left the scene of the accident without looking after the victim.
