Erkelenz - A 22-year-old man from Hückelhoven was walking in the city center of Erkelenz at the intersection of Aachener Straße / Westpromenade / Wilhelmstraße early Sunday morning (December 15) around 3:35 a.m. last weekend when he was approached from behind by a previously unknown male person and asked for the time. When he turned around, the perpetrator hit him with his fist on the back of the head and several times in the face. He then robbed him of his wallet.
The robber was 180 to 190 centimeters tall, around 18 to 20 years old and wore a grey woolly hat. He and a companion, who cannot be described in more detail, then fled in the direction of the cinema.
The police are now looking for witnesses to the incident.
