An 82-year-old woman from Wegberg placed a job advertisement because she was looking for a driver. A woman responded to the ad and the senior citizen made an appointment with her. When the woman did not show up on time for the appointment on October 20 (Sunday), the pensioner called her. The woman stated that her vehicle had not started and that she would now have a friend take her.
When the two women arrived at the Wegberg woman's home at around 2.30 p.m., they first sat down together in the living room. The friend said she had to go to the toilet. She left the room while the Wegberg woman talked to the alleged applicant. When the friend did not return for a long time, the senior citizen was surprised, but initially did not suspect anything. Both women said goodbye at around 3 p.m. and left the apartment.
The following day, the Wegberg woman realized that her purse, which she had left on her desk in her office, was missing. She then tried to dial the telephone numbers that the two women had given her, but was unable to reach anyone. She then filed a complaint.
One of the women was around 40 years old and had light blonde, shoulder-length hair. She was 165 centimetres tall and had slightly Asian-looking, slanted eyes. She spoke German without an accent. The other woman had long dark hair, appeared Turkish and also spoke German without an accent.
In order to clarify the crime, the police are asking anyone who saw the two women on Heimstraße around the time of the crime to come forward. Information can be obtained from the Hückelhoven Criminal Investigation Department on
