A resident in Jan-von-Werth-Straße became aware of suspicious noises at around 1.20 a.m. early on Friday morning (May 2). When she looked out of the window, she noticed a previously unknown person standing next to a BMW parked in a parking lot opposite the church. She then saw a flame, possibly that of a lighter, and then observed the unknown person throwing something into the vehicle. The person then walked around the car, lit something again and also threw it into the car before the suspect left on foot in the direction of Im Hufeisen. He was strong, had a lumbering gait and a hunched posture.
The burning car was extinguished by the fire department. The investigating criminal police are now looking for further witnesses who made suspicious observations at the time in question.
