On August 17 (Saturday), police officers were called to a car theft on the street Auf der Kuff. The vehicle owner stated that she had parked the car on the side of the road on August 16 at around 7.15 pm. At around 9 a.m. on August 17, she discovered that the Opel Zafira had apparently been stolen.
Video recordings show two suspects opening the driver's door of the parked car at around 7.15 p.m. and presumably stealing the key from inside. At around 9.45 p.m., one person then got into the gray car and drove off with it. It is not known whether this was one of the two people who stole the key earlier. The two offenders are described as being around 16 to 20 years old. One had dark brown, medium-length hair and was wearing a black sweater with a white print, black pants and white sneakers. He was riding a black ladies' bicycle. The second offender had short brown hair, was wearing a black T-shirt, dark jeans and black and white sneakers and was riding a black mountain bike.
The stolen vehicle was found parked on Carl-Diem-Straße at around 00:45 on August 17 (Saturday). It was recovered.
